The trial service of the Yokaro, a direct bus service for members only that operates a daily schedule between Hirado, Nagasaki Prefecture, and Fukuoka City, is scheduled to end this month. A group of volunteers has formed a special entity to operate the buses, however, and service will continue for another year. The bus service was begun to promote tourism. For an annual fee of 3,000 yen, members have the privilege of unlimited use of the two daily round trips between the cities on the 45-seat buses. There are currently 7,900 members.
