Holland Village in Nagasaki to Get Makeover

The city of Saikai in Nagasaki Prefecture has announced plans to reopen the old Holland Village site as a leisure facility for local citizens and tourists. Dubbed Port Hall Nagasaki, the site will feature restaurants serving local fare and other attractions. It will be administered by Holland Village Corp., the joint venture company that also runs the city’s zoo, Nagasaki Biopark. Holland Village and Saikai City will invest ¥510 million into renovations and expect to attract 350,000 visitors in the first year. The new facility is scheduled to open on April 16.
