Honda announced on the 16th that it has reached a milestone of 20 million motorcycles produced at its Kumamoto factory in Ozu Town, Kumamoto Prefecture. A commemorative event was held at the factory on the same day, The event celebrated the production of the 20 millionth motorcycle, which was showcased to the attendees. Honda started production at this factory in 1976 and reached a total production of 10 million units by 1994. Currently, about 2,500 employees work at the factory, manufacturing 45 different models, ranging from 50cc commuter bikes to large 1800cc models. The factory is also a production base for large models, exporting motorcycles to 57 countries and regions, in addition to serving the domestic market.
