A Hong Kong couple visited Fukuoka City for their “legal wedding,” submitting their marriage registration papers at Nishi-ku ward office on May 26. Fukuoka City started the “legal wedding” system, which allows foreigners to get married under Japanese law, about two years ago. After their registration in Japan, the couple must submit a marriage certificate in their country to have their marriage officially registered at home. The Hong Kong couple, who marked the fifth such wedding, held a wedding ceremony that afternoon in Fukuoka City. Source: TNC, 5/26/2017
