Takeout bento chain Hotto Motto, operated by Fukuoka City-based Plenus, will begin a home delivery service at roughly 100 shops nationwide by the end of February 2011. The objective is to expand their customer base by providing this service to families with small children who find it inconvenient to leave the house, and to the elderly. The chain has been conducting trials of this service since last September at seven shops, three of which are in Fukuoka Prefecture, and monthly sales at those shops rose 6%-7% on a year-on-year basis.
