The national government and Fukuoka Prefecture plan to establish Japan’s first center for certifying the safety of hydrogen products to meet the needs stemming from research into hydrogen as an energy source. The center will be located in Maebaru near the Kyushu University campus. They hope to develop international safety standards for hydrogen products, which have yet to be formally established.
