A survey conducted by a financial and business magazine revealed that Imari in Saga Prefecture will have the highest year-on-year growth rate in municipal tax revenue in the nation this year, based on initial budgets. The survey, which compared 751 municipalities, showed that the city will take in about 7.3 billion yen in tax revenue, a 23.3% rise from the previous year. This is due primarily to the city’s new Sumco plant, which manufactures semiconductor materials.
