Fukuoka Prefecture opened on November 17 a center for system LSI design and trial production by expanding the joint use facilities of the general development center in Sawara Ward, Fukuoka City, for the support of system LSI development for companies backed by venture capital. It is the first local government facility in the country capable of providing integrated support for trial production and operation in addition to design. They hope it becomes an international focal point for companies involved with LSI development.
