The Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) has approved a plan presented by the Fukuoka Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives to prevent future antitrust violations. The plan came in response to an investigation into whether fisheries cooperatives were unfairly restricting nori seaweed producers from selling their products directly online. Instead, they were allegedly required to sell exclusively through the cooperatives. While the investigation has concluded for the Fukuoka Federation, it continues for the cooperatives in Kumamoto and Saga. Source: NHK
