IoT kids Safety Monitoring Starts in Kasuya

Kasuya Town has begun to use IoT devices to secure children’s safety. About 3,500 devices using the Kyuden-developed ‘Qottaby’ app will be distributed to local elementary school students around the beginning of the new school year. It is the second such initiative in the prefecture, following that of Fukuoka City. The system tracks the locations of children to help local police during emergencies. The data is available for parents if they apply for a paid plan (¥480/month.) Source: Kasuya Town / Kyuden
