Chikaranomoto Holdings, operator of the Ippudo ramen chain, announced plans to open a halal ramen restaurant in Indonesia, offering chicken and shrimp-based soups to comply with Islamic dietary laws, according to Chikaranomoto Holdings. The company will establish a wholly owned subsidiary, tentatively named Noodle Mania Indonesia, with the first location expected near Jakarta as early as September. It remains undecided whether the Ippudo brand name will be used. Overseas sales, including those in Southeast Asia and the U.S., made up 40% of the company’s revenue in the fiscal year ending March 2025. Source: Yomiuri
