Itoshima City Tourist Facilities and Parking Lots Closing or Reducing Services During Golden Week

Itoshima City has announced that some local facilities and services will be either closed or operating in a reduced capacity during Golden Week to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The city decided on the plan knowing many of their tourist attractions welcome many visitors from outside the area during this time of year. Several car parks at the area’s most famous sightseeing spots, such as Futamigaura will be closed, while popular facilities, including Shiraito Waterfalls Fureai no Sato, will be completely closed. Other sites will be closed or only offer limited services between April 29 until May 6, when the current state of emergency is set to end. However, this date is subject to change and may vary depending on location. The city plans to increase the presence of police officers on the streets in the coming week to ensure that the newly introduced traffic and parking restrictions will be obeyed. More information is available on the Itoshima City website. Source: Itoshima City
