By exempting property taxes for newly constructed facilities, Itoshima City launched a project to develop an academia-research collaborative town near the Kyushu University Ito Campus. On June 24, the city’s assembly approved the tax exemption on research facilities, apartments and dormitories, hotels, and other related facilities completed on June 26, 2020, or later inside the ‘Kyushu University collaboration district’ (south-east to Ito Campus.) Eligible facilities enjoy full property-tax exemptions for the first three fiscal years, then 50% in the following two years. Sources: Itoshima City / Mainichi
