Itoshima Mayor Wins Reelection But Tests Positive for COVID

Yuji Tsukigata, reelected for a third term as Mayor of the Itoshima City, has tested positive for the new coronavirus. The Mayor canceled all indoor speeches as the number of COVID-19 patients soared in the region during the election campaign period. On the evening of Jan. 30, Tsukigata developed a fever and tested positive with an antigen test. The hardship forced him to cancel victory celebrations and interviews related to his reelection. As of now, no close contacts have been confirmed between the Mayor and Itoshima City staff. Source: KBC
