JA Ashikita, the agricultural cooperative for Ashikita-machi, Kumamoto Prefecture, and 7-Eleven Japan began a program to bring products to people unable to shop in the stores. Some of the chain’s convenience stores deliver on an individual basis, but this is the first agreement of its kind between the retailer and JA nationwide. Two special trucks are sent to three remote municipalities six days a week to sell 150 items to people ordinarily unable to go shopping for themselves.
