JAL Promotes Fukuoka On-Board

Japan Airlines (JAL) is promoting Fukuoka food and culture on its aircrafts for the month of December as part of their ongoing campaign “Japan Project”. The project promotes regional products and traditions from all over Japan, in JAL aircrafts and airports. For the Fukuoka edition JAL enlisted the help of Nishitetsu Grand Hotel’s head chef Mr. Isoyama, who is supervising the production of special in-flight meals. Incorporating local produce such as Itoshima pork and fish from the Genkai-sea, the meals are available on four flight routes including from Fukuoka to Haneda. International business class passengers can enjoy a Hakata-style meal with local vegetables. In flight magazines and viewing also include features on Fukuoka, with a focus on tourism and local food. JAL representative Mr. Onishi hopes the in-flight experience encourages more passengers to visit Fukuoka.
