Japan Tobacco Closes Two Tobacco Factories in Fukuoka

Japan Tobacco Inc. (JT) announced closures of its two factories in Fukuoka Prefecture. The tobacco factory’s operations in Chikushino City and the filter factory in Tagawa City will cease in March 2022. Early retirements will become offered to about 400 workers at those factories. Reflecting upon the unlikelihood of the domestic market’s growth, JT will integrate the domestic headquarter with its office in Geneva, Switzerland. Source: Asahi / Nikkei / NHK
