Japan’s First EV Complex to Open in Kitakyushu

Japan’s first complex for electric vehicles is to be built in Wakamatsu-ku, Kitakyushu City. An assembly plant for commercial EVs such as buses and trucks will be constructed. EV Motors Japan, a local company, will build an assembly plant for commercial EVs such as buses and trucks, as well as a test-ride course and a museum. All of these facilities will be powered by renewable energy. The assembly plant for commercial EVs will be completed in the fall of 2023 to produce about 25 models or 1,500 units per year. The plant will produce about 25 types of EVs and 1,500 units per year. According to Kitakyushu City, the completion of the hands-on EV complex is expected to create 50 to 100 new jobs.
