Jobs-to-Applicants Ratio Drops Below 1.0 in Fukuoka

The Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare released a report on job offers-to-applicant ratios of June 2020. According to that, the deseasonalized ratio for Fukuoka Prefecture was 0.98, falling below 1.0 for the first time over five years and seven months. While the unemployment rate for the entire country slightly improved during June, more difficult situations are expected for the coming months. Also, the total number of job losses (including scheduled unemployment for the near future) due to the impact of the new coronavirus epidemic topped 1,000 in Fukuoka Prefecture.
