Dontaku is fast approaching and Hakatamachiya Furusatokan and Canal City Hakata are recruiting participants to join their Dontaku team in the parade. The deadline to apply is April 28 and only 100 participants will be accepted. The parade will be on May 4 and you will also need to be available for a shamoji making workshop on either Apr. 29 (Sat) or 30 (Sun) at 11:00, 13:00, or 15:00. Participation costs ¥2,000 for the basic plan with a happi coat rental or a ¥3,500 plan which includes the happi coat.
