JR Hakata City celebrated its 10th anniversary on March 3. More than 600 million people had visited the facility since it opened in 2011. Amu Plaza and other stores marked the milestone with about twenty new stores and holding sales. Also, JR Hakata City and the neighboring Hankyu Department Store introduced new shop hours to improve their working environments further: most shops (except some restaurants and during some multi-day holidays) would close at 20:00 from Apr. 1.
