JR Hitahikosan Line “BRT” Restoration Plans Means More Stations

The section between Soeda Station and Yoake Station on the JR Hita-Hikosan Line, which was damaged by the torrential rains in northern Kyushu five years ago and has been out of service, will be restored next year as the “BRT HIKOBOSHI LINE,” operated by buses on a dedicated road on the former railroad line. The section between Soeda Station and Yoake Station on the JR Hita-Hikosan Line is scheduled to open next summer as the “BRT Hikoboshi Line. According to the plan, the BRT will operate from Soeda Station to Hita Station. New stations will be built in addition to the existing railroad stations, bringing the total number of stations to 37. This is a significant increase from the 12 stations before the disaster, and the BRT hopes to make the stations more convenient as a means of transportation for people’s daily lives. Source: NHK
