JR Kyushu intends to conduct business enterprises outside of Kyushu in Japan and other Asian countries in the future, it was revealed at the company’s general stockholders’ meeting. This will be part of the company’s policy of diversifying beyond the operation of railroads. If the Kyushu Shinkansen begins operating smoothly, they also plan on listing their stock on exchanges in 2012 or 2013. Meanwhile, the company’s railroad revenue fell 87.6% in May from the year-before period.
