JR Kyushu’s luxury sleeper train “Nanatsuboshi” was partially renewed to coincide with the 9th anniversary of its operation, and a brand new train car equipped with a “tea room” and other facilities was unveiled at Hakata Station in Fukuoka City. Car 2 now has a salon where passengers can enjoy chatting and events and a new tea room where passengers can taste famous teas from various regions in Kyushu. In Car 3, a “gallery store” has been established where passengers can purchase goods made from Hakata textiles from Fukuoka City, tableware made from Arita porcelain from Saga Prefecture, and other traditional handicrafts representing various regions in Kyushu. In addition, with the renewal, the passenger capacity will be reduced from 30 to 20 passengers to improve hospitality further. Source: NHK / JR Kyushu
