JR Seeks Name Ideas for New Fukuoka Station

JR Kyushu has begun accepting public submissions for the name of a new station being constructed between Chihaya and Hakozaki stations on the Kagoshima Main Line in Fukuoka’s Higashi Ward. The station is part of a major redevelopment near the former Kyushu University Hakozaki Campus and is set to open in 2027. Designed as a bridge-style structure with an open-air plaza concept, the station aims to serve as a local landmark. Submissions are accepted by postcard or QR code, with conditions including a 15-character limit and no symbols. Source: JR Kyushu
