Kabuki actor Onoe Kikugoro VIII gave a dedicatory performance at Fukuoka’s Torikai Hachimangu on Oct. 22. About 700 people attended. The shrine has undergone its first rebuilding in 205 years, with ceremonies to transfer its sacred object to the new main hall. He danced Shinnai Yaegiku to shamisen accompaniment on the shrine’s kagura stage. The stage, completed in May, was built using locally grown hinoki cypress. Source: KBC News / RKB News
