It has been revealed that local real estate giant Kamiyo Sangyo will erect a 13-story office building on the current site of the Hakata Post Office. The building is slated for completion in the spring of 2018 after the post office moves into its new digs next door. This will be the third major building to be erected in the zone adjacent to Hakata Station, with Kitte Hakata slated to open in April and JRJP Hakata Building scheduled to open sometime this spring. Kamiyo envisions increased demand for office space around Hakata Station since many of the current office buildings that were build in the 70s and 80s will soon need to be redeveloped.
