The Kanmon area, connecting Kitakyushu in Fukuoka and Shimonoseki in Yamaguchi, has been selected for the first time as one of the “Top 100 Sustainable Destinations” by a Dutch certification body. It’s the first site from Fukuoka Prefecture to receive this honor. The selection recognized cross-strait collaboration and “infrastructure tourism” initiatives, including guided tours of the Kanmon Tunnel.
