K.I.T. and Partners to Launch Reusable Winged Rocket from the U.S.

A winged test rocket currently being developed by the Kyushu Institute of Technology, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), and IHI Corporation is slated for launch from the United States in 2018. Measuring 4.6 m in length and weighing one metric ton, the rocket will feature a composite body and liquid natural gas-powered engines. The total cost is estimated at just under ¥100 million. The launch will serve as a litmus test for reusable space planes and is expected to spur aerospace development led by the private sector. Source: http://www.fiba.jp/
