Kitakyushu and Shimonoseki Plan Monitor Tour for Taiwanese Visitors

On Nov. 10 the JR Mojiko Station building, which has been renovated to resemble what it looked like when it first opened in 1914, was partially opened to the public for the first time in six years. With its cluster of historical buildings, the Mojiko Retro area has gained a strong reputation among foreign history buffs, especially among visitors from Taiwan. Aiming to attract more foreign visitors amid this uptick, the cities of Kitakyushu and Shimonoseki are planning to hold a monitor tour for Taiwanese tourists. The cities will ask the visitors which tourist spots they enjoyed the most and use those responses to create tours tailored to Taiwanese visitors, which they then hope to market to local travel agents.
