The city of Kitakyushu began burning rubble created from the Tohoku earthquake in Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture, at three incineration plants. They are the first municipality in Kyushu to begin the large-scale disposal of this rubble. They intend to dispose of 62,500 tons by March 2014.
