Kitakyushu City and Saibu Gas Sign Agreement to Go Carbon Neutral

Kitakyushu City and Saibu Gas have signed a partnership agreement to achieve carbon neutrality, which means virtually zero greenhouse gas emissions. Mayor Kenji Kitahashi of Kitakyushu City and Saibu Gas President Yukinori Michinaga signed the collaboration agreement on Sep. 21. Under the agreement, companies in the city will be encouraged to introduce “carbon neutral LNG,” in which carbon dioxide and other emissions from the extraction and combustion of natural gas are offset by the amount absorbed by plants. This is the third location where Saibu Gas has signed an agreement with a municipality regarding carbon neutrality, following Fukuoka City and Munakata City. Source: RKB
