The Kokura school of Kitakyushu Yobiko, Kyushu’s largest university entrance exam prep school by enrollment, is having 50 students try Zen meditation at the local Kozen-ji Buddhist temple. The objective is to increase their ability to concentrate for the entrance exams and to decrease their stress. The school said they wanted the students to apply themselves to Zen meditation so they could learn how to face the tests calmly and without getting nervous. Source: Nishinippon Shimbun
