Kitakyushu Hibikinada Biotope to be Opened to Public
The city of Kitakyushu announced plans to open to the public on October 6 the Hibikinada biotope, one of the largest in the country. The land was the former site of a refuse disposal processing center, and it has been left to nature for 20 years after that function ended. Kitakyushu wants to use it as a symbol for its presentation of itself as the environmental city of the future.
