Kitakyushu Launches Google Maps Ticketing for Tourist Facilities

Kitakyushu City has started a trial using Google Maps to provide detailed information about local tourist facilities and sell tickets online. The initiative, launched in January 2025, aims to attract more visitors by enhancing accessibility and convenience. Ten facilities, including the Kanmon Straits Museum and the city’s main tourist information center, now offer details such as locations, hours, and contact information on Google Maps. Visitors can also purchase tickets or make reservations directly through the platform. The trial will run until the end of March 2025, during which the city will evaluate its effectiveness in boosting visitor numbers. If successful, the program may expand to include other tourist facilities. Source: Kitakyushu City
