Marking two years since the Great East Japan Earthquake, Mar. 11, Kenji Kitahashi, Kitakyushu City Mayor has spoken of the continued support the city will offer. He spoke of the pride the city holds in assisting the disaster area by accepting debris from the affected areas. 23,000 tonnes of burnable debris will have been accepted by the end of this month. 522 Kitakyushu staff and 375 workers from local businesses have been sent to assist in the redevelopment of the area.
