Kokutai Road Reopens After Overnight Sinkhole Repairs

Fukuoka City reopened traffic on Route 202, known locally as Kokutai Road, at 6:53 a.m. on June 11 after urgent overnight repairs to address a sinkhole discovered the previous morning, according to KBC. The collapse occurred in Imaizumi, Chūō Ward, during underground pipe connection work for a stormwater drainage project.

City workers used liquefied stabilizing soil to fill the cavity, then repaved the section overnight. Mayor S0ichir0 Takashima announced the reopening and apologized for the disruption.
