Kumamoto Prefecture has signed a memorandum of understanding with Kyushu Electric Power concerning the Sendai nuclear power plant in Kagoshima Prefecture. The memorandum concerns the prompt provision of information in the case of an accident or natural disaster that affects plant operations. It is the first time an agreement of this type has been signed with a prefecture outside the 30-kilometer Urgent Protective Action Planning Zone.
