Rakunoh Mothers, a milk producers’ group based in Kumamoto City, revealed they will begin exporting locally produced milk to Malaysia and Singapore later this year. It will be the first time anyone in Japan has exported milk to those countries. The Kumamoto producers have turned their attention to Southeast Asia after exports to China ended with the foot and mouth disease in Miyazaki Prefecture, and subsequent negotiations to resume exports foundered.
