Kumamoto Shochu Manufacturer Debuts in America

Sengetsu Shuzo will ship out 15,000 bottles of shochu to the U.S. after spending three years in joint development of products for export with an American company. Collaboration between the 118-year-old shochu distillery in Kumamoto and the Mujen Spirits, which was co-founded by an actress and entrepreneur, Sondra Baker, has overcome a one-year delay due to heavy rain in Kumamoto Prefecture in 2020 and will finally debut products with three different alcohol strengths; Ai (23%,) Original (35%,) and X (42%.) The bottles will be exclusively available in the U.S. Source: Yahoo / NHK / Nikkei
