Kyudai to Move IMAQ to Momochi

Kyushu University has announced it will move its Intellectual Property Management Center (IMAQ) from Hakozaki Campus in Higashi-ku to a site in Momochi, Sawara-ku this September. On Apr. 1, the university obtained the former offices of JST Innovation Plaza Fukuoka, an independent administrative agency scrapped under the previous DPJ-led administration, free of charge. The university says it will open a “rental lab” where it can conduct joint research with local companies in the building and take advantage of the concentration of IT companies in Momochi to strengthen its research in cutting-edge fields such as human factors and ergonomics. It also hopes to bolster research with companies from Asia. Source: Nishinippon Shimbun, Apr. 18
