Kyushu Electric Power (Kyuden) has acquired an 18.1% share of South Field Energy. The proposed Ohio-based facility is an Advanced Power development that aims to utilize natural gas to produce energy. This is the third project that Kyuden has participated in the United States, following their involvement in the Birdsboro (Pennsylvania) and Kleen Energy (Connecticut) power plants. Kyuden now has equity in overseas developments that have a combined output of approximately 1.97 million kilowatts. The company is aiming to increase this figure to 2.4 million by 2021 and then to 5 million by the end of the decade. Source: Kyushu Electric Power (Kyuden) Press Release, 8/24/2018
