Kyushu Electric Power Co., Inc. announced a partnership with two local companies to develop a project to operate electric buses to balance electrical demand and supply. The project will start in December 2020, using Nishitetsu’s EV buses running in the Island City area. While electricity demands naturally become greater in daytime compared to nighttime, the scheme of charging buses at night and discharging them while in use the following day will be tested to flatten loads.
