The Nishinippon Shimbun reports that price cutting competition for airline travel in Kyushu is intensifying. Kitakyushu-based Starflyer will be offering 10,000 yen one-way fares from Fukuoka to Haneda on Wednesdays from April to June. Skymark is now offering a 980 yen one-way fare from Fukuoka to Narita Airport for three months starting February 1. The competition is being driven in part by the growing number of low-cost carriers operating in the region.
