Automobile exports from Kyushu to the United States fell to around 8,000 units in June, down 65% year-on-year, marking the first drop below 10,000 units in over three years, according to Moji Customs. Export value for vehicles declined 77% to ¥29.2 billion, reflecting the widening impact of US retaliatory tariffs and additional auto duties introduced in April. Total exports to the US fell 50% to ¥93.1 billion. Overall, Kyushu’s June exports decreased 7% to ¥979.7 billion, the third consecutive monthly decline, while imports fell 6% for the fifth straight month. Despite the downturn, the first-half trade balance remained in surplus at ¥968.6 billion. Source: Moji Customs
