Kyushu Auto Exports to U.S. Drop 28%

April exports from Kyushu to the U.S. dropped 17% year-on-year to ¥127.1 billion, with automobile exports plunging 28%, according to preliminary trade data from Moji Customs. Electronics exports also fell sharply, down 85%. The downturn is likely linked to new U.S. reciprocal tariffs and added duties on cars. Total auto exports to all destinations fell 19%. The overall export value from the Kyushu region declined 1% to ¥1.0256 trillion, marking the first drop in five months. Source: Moji Customs
