A survey by the Kyushu Bureau of Economy, Trade, and Industry revealed that 60% of the Kyushu-based automobile parts manufacturers supplying domestic car companies plan to increase their orders to local subcontractors this year. It also revealed a discrepancy in what both sides perceive as priorities in their business arrangements. When dealing with subcontractors, the parts makers say they emphasize quality, costs, and the approach of the senior executives. In contrast, a significantly lower percentage of subcontractors said they emphasized the business approach of their executives.
