Kyushu Electric Power Co signed a basic agreement with PT Donggi-Senoro LNG of Indonesia to buy 300,000 tons of liquefied natural gas every year for about 13 years starting in the second half of 2014. The utility has LNG thermal power plants in Oita City and Kitakyushu, and used 2.76 million tons in FY 2009, all imported. The agreement would provide Kyushu Electric with about 10% of its annual LNG supply. Almost half of their annual supply comes from Indonesia.
