Kyushu Electric and Saibu Gas to Lower Rates in February
On Dec. 25, both Kyushu Electric and Saibu Gas announced they will lower their rates in February to reflect the collapse in oil prices. The calculations used each month are based on average fuel prices from the last three months. Compared to the monthly average utility cost in January, Kyushu Electric will decrease by ¥42, while Saibu Gas billings, thanks to the decline in LNG import costs, will decrease by ¥14 per household, per month.
