Kyushu Electric Appoints New President

Kyushu Electric Power announced that President Kazuhiro Ikebe will become chairman with representative authority, while Executive Vice President Masaru Nishiyama will be promoted to president. This marks the company’s first top-level leadership change in seven years. Nishiyama, 61, joined Kyushu Electric in 1986 and has held key positions including head of the international affairs office and corporate strategy. Since 2022, he has led the Energy Services Division as an executive board member. Speaking at a press conference, Nishiyama emphasized the importance of ensuring a stable power supply amid growing demand and long-term challenges.
